You can ask your subconscious mind 2 questions. Before listening to the hypnotic recording you should decide what 2 questions you want to ask. The 1st being short, simple and to the point, with an answer of YES or NO. The 2nd question can be complex, with the answer played out on a stage or screen.

Examples:
1st question:  "should I change my occupation?".  
2nd question:  "what would be my ideal occupation?".

“In a moment you find yourself in a very nice theater. You are the only one there. You have the best seat. In front of you is a curtain drawn closed. When I count to 3 the curtains will open. Behind the curtains will be either a screen or a stage, let your subconscious mind determine which. Before I count to 3, I want you, with your conscious mind, to now think of a question you would ask your subconscious mind. (5 second pause). On 3 the curtains opens. When I count to 3 there will be a 1 minute period where I would ask your subconscious mind to please show the answer. 1…2…3. (1 minute pause). Very nice.
